Someone wise once said, "A picture is worth a thousand words"—and we couldn't agree more! If your job post could use that extra visual pop, follow these simple steps to add an image and tell your story without all that text.

Step 1: Open Your Job Post for Editing

Whether you're updating an existing job post or starting a fresh one, just open up your job post editor to start adding some visual flair!

Step 2: Get Your Image Online with a Direct URL

Now, let's get that image ready! To add an image to your job posting, you’ll need the direct URL of the image itself. This isn’t just a link to the page where it lives—it's the URL that ends with something like .jpg or .png.

Image Size Matters!

For a polished look across job boards, try to use an image sized around 320x240 (for websites and email). This size keeps things neat, clear, and readable across job boards, social media, and emails.

Pro Tip:  To get a source URL for your image, it needs to be uploaded online first. If it’s not online yet, you can use free hosting sites like ImgBB or Postimage, which make it quick and easy to get your image online!

Step 3: Place the Image in Your Job Description

Here's the fun part! In the job description editor:

  1. Look for the Image button in your toolbar and click it.
  2. A popup will appear asking for the Source (URL) of your image.
  3. Paste the direct image URL here, then click Insert

Boom—your image is now in your job post!

Quick Tip:

Double-check that your URL is a direct image link (ending in .jpg, .png, etc.). If it doesn’t end with an image file type, it might just link to a page instead of displaying the image itself. We don’t want candidates clicking around in circles!

Optional (But Fun!) – Add Alternative Text

In the box labeled "Title (Alternative Text)," you can add a description that will appear if the image doesn’t load. Give it a name or short phrase that makes sense to candidates, like “Company Culture at [Your Company]” or “Our Team in Action.”

Optional – Make Your Image Clickable

Want candidates to click the image and be directed somewhere specific, like your careers page? Add that URL in the Link (URL) box. Just be mindful that job boards may require the link to be job- or company-related.

Step 4: Save and Continue

Once you’ve placed your image and made any other updates, click Save and Continue to lock in those changes. Your job post is now looking fresher, more engaging, and ready to impress! Then go check it out on your ATS-Hosted Career Page and share with all your friends!

Bonus for HTML Fans: Hands-On Image Placement

For those of you who like getting into the code, you can click the HTML icon and add the image code directly. This gives you full control over where and how your image appears. (Go ahead and get creative!)
