Tracking where your applicants come from can give you valuable insights into the effectiveness of your job advertising channels. Here’s a step-by-step guide to adding your own tracking code to a job posting URL if you want to post it directly somewhere. (In the example below, let's pretend you're posting the job's unique application URL on your Facebook page and you want those candidates who apply from there to flow into your ATS and show that source.)
1. Find the Job Posting URL:
- Go to the job posting's dashboard page.
- Locate the unique URL for the job posting.
2. Copy the Job Posting URL:
- Click the URL symbol pointed out in Step 1 to copy it to your clipboard.
3. Paste the URL:
- Go to the page where you will be posting the job.
4. Add the Tracking Code:
- Append `?s=` (without quotes) to the end of the URL.
- After `?s=`, add a descriptive text to define your advertising source. For instance, if you're posting on Facebook, you might use `?s=facebook`.
- The final URL will just be the job's URL you copied with the ?s=facebook added on the end.
5. Track the Source:
- When an applicant applies using this URL, the source will be recorded in their profile.
- You can view the tracking information on the applicant's profile and see it reflected in the Applicant Sources report on the Applicants page.
